What You’ll Need
In order to make your own rolled paper flowers, you will need a few supplies. You will need:
-Paper in whatever color or colors you want your flowers to be
-Scissors
-Tape
-A pen or pencil
-A straw
Once you have gathered all of your supplies, you are ready to get started!
Step One: Cut the paper into strips
To make the flowers, you’ll need to start by cutting the paper into strips. You can use any type of paper you like, but construction paper or cardstock will work best. Cut the paper into strips that are about 1-2 inches wide and 6-8 inches long. Once you have your strips cut, you’re ready to move on to step two!
Step Two: Make the flowers
To make the flowers, start by cutting out five or six petals from your construction paper. You can make the petals any shape you want, but we recommend keeping them somewhat oval-shaped. Once you have your petals cut out, take one of them and roll it up into a tight coil. Repeat this step with the remaining petals.
Now that all of your petals are rolled up, it’s time to assemble the flowers. Take two of the rolled-up petals and glue them together at the base. Continue adding petals until you have a flower with five or six petals. Once your flower is assembled, add a dot of glue to the center and sprinkle on some glitter for a little bit of extra sparkle.
There you have it! Your very own rolled paper flowers! These flowers make great decorations for any time of year, and they’re especially perfect for springtime.
Step Three: Attach the flowers to the stem
To attach the flowers to the stem, start by holding the base of the flower in one hand and the stem in the other. Then, use a small piece of clear tape to secure the two together. Repeat this process for each flower, attaching them all to the stem. Once you’re finished, trim any excess tape from the stem and admire your beautiful creation!
Step Four: Assemble the bouquet
To assemble your bouquet, start by adding the greenery to the bottom of the stems. Then, add in your filler flowers, followed by your focal flowers. Make sure to stagger the heights of the different types of flowers for a more natural look. Once you’re happy with the arrangement, secure all of the stems together with floral tape or wire. Finally, trim away any excess greenery or stems, and voila! You’ve got yourself a beautiful paper flower bouquet.
